Google Business Profile suspended: what to do

Heads up
Google makes the final decision on every appeal and edit, and no guide can promise reinstatement. PinRevive is not affiliated with Google. Bracketed letters link to Google's official help pages (list).

A suspended or disabled Business Profile is stressful because customers can no longer find you. Google says it may suspend or disable profiles that don't follow its guidelines, and that if you believe your profile should be reinstated you can submit an appeal. [A] Here's the order of operations.

First: work out what you're dealing with

Open the Business Profile appeals tool: it shows the date of the decision, the reason, a link to the policy involved, whether it can be appealed and its status. [A]

How to submit an appeal

  1. Open the Google Business Profile appeals tool and sign in with the Google account tied to the profile.
  2. Select the profile, then the decision you want to appeal.
  3. Optionally upload supporting evidence (multiple files are allowed) and type an explanation of why the profile should be reinstated.
  4. Tick the confirmation box and submit. Google reviews it and emails you the decision.

Important: appeals can only be submitted once, so don't press submit until your evidence is ready. [A] Google also says: do not create a new Business Profile for the same business. [A]

Evidence Google says can help

Google's tip: for any document you submit, check that the business name and address match the profile you're appealing. [A] Beyond that list, practical extras like signage photos and a change log can help you tell a clear story, but they're our suggestion rather than a Google requirement. See the evidence checklist.

Fix the real-world mismatch before you appeal

Many suspensions trace back to the profile not matching reality. Compare your profile with the guidelines [B]:

What not to do

If your appeal is denied

Google says that only if a request is denied, it may be able to do an additional review, and you can provide additional evidence that wasn't added with the original appeal. If you're in the European Economic Area you may have additional redress options. [A]

FAQ

How long does an appeal take?

Google says it will review the appeal and email you the decision; it doesn't commit to a time on the page we used. You can check the status in the appeals tool: Submitted, Approved, Not Approved, Can't be appealed, or Eligible for appeal. [A]

Will I definitely be reinstated if I send documents?

No. Evidence helps strengthen an appeal, but Google makes the final decision. [A]

Can I appeal 10+ profiles at once?

Yes, the tool offers bulk reinstatement for 10 or more suspended locations with a spreadsheet of profile IDs plus documents. [A]
